  Pontypridd chart toppers Lostprophets and Swansea singing sensation Shaheen Jafargholi and The Mark Jermin Stage School are all set to perform as part of the prestigious 2010 Ryder Cup celebration concert ‘Welcome to Wales’ at the Millennium Stadium on 29 September.

Held biennially, the event is contested by teams representing Europe and the United States, with the host venue alternating between the two. The Ryder Cup is named after Samuel Ryder, a St Albans seed merchant, who donated the trophy for the first match held in Massachusetts in 1927.

Wales is the host nation for The 2010 Ryder Cup and The Celtic Manor Resort’s Twenty Ten Course will be the venue for the 38th contest since the tournament began. The par 71 course measuring 7,493 yards in length will be the first course to be built specifically for The 2010 Ryder Cup.

The event will be contested from the 1-3 October 2010 and the European and United States teams will be captained by Colin Montgomerie and Corey Pavin respectively. Practice days will be held on Tuesday 28th, Wednesday 29th and Thursday 30th September, with the official opening ceremony being held on Thursday at The Celtic Manor Resort.
